Work in progress and products delivered

FST has designed many prototypes in collaboration with several companies and public corporations. Some of his products are: a system to monitor biomedical values, micro datalogger to obtain food traceability along the supply chain and smart sensor interface for WSN.


Datalogger

FST is working on a datalogger for windpower applications, but thanks to the versatility of the product many other applications can be possible; for example in agro-foods, Geotechnical and wherever it is important the remote monitoring in long period. Read more


Alma Project (Marwan Technology)

The goal of the project is to develop a mobile laser system for the chemical analysis, in real time, of precious metal and amber. All the informations can be obtained with non-invasive procedures, without taking of specimens and without chemical pretreatment of the sample. The complete absence of solvents and treatments allows to proceed with the analysis preserving at the same time the environment.


Monitoring Biometric Parameters

monitoraggio parametri biomedicali - nodo biometricoIn collaboration with Synapsis srl and Istituto Sant’Anna of Crotone, FST has developed and tested in hospital a system for multisensorial monitoring, wearable and integrated in a wireless network to allow the connection with a Gateway placed inside the LAN and used to send the acquired data directly into the digital medical records of the patient.
The system can monitor: blood heat, frequency of heartbeat, heart rate variability, oxygen saturation, frequency of ocular motor nerves palsy, movement.
All these data are correlated with the environment parameters obtained from the Gateway. These parameters are: temperature, humidity, noise and light.
The Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is realized with the zigbee technology to guarantee the best efficiency in terms of energy and network edge limit.

Food Tag Datalogger

Food Tag Datalogger This product is created as a part of the European project GoodFood; the FTD goal is to improve the control, the security and the quality of the food following it during the transport, along with the storage phase till the sale. This device can be thought as an electronical label that is able to memorize informations about transport conditions and to let them available for the consumer. Anyway, the product feature let it be a well-versed product, usable for differents applications where it is relevant a long period monitoring.
FTD is able to monitor temperature, humidity and light from the environment through integrated sensors. A microcontroller manages the acquisition from the sensors in a power safe mode making possible monitoring in a long period (up to 1 year). There is an infrared interface (with the IrDA standard) used for the configuration and data download. Because of this kind of interface the use of a simple PDA is possible, and using a specific tool the PDA can communicate with the device.


Smart Sensors

Smart Sensors FST has developed for Lucerne University (Hochschule Luzern Technik & Architektur) an interface to sensors with the aim of realize a fast and reliable tool to easily integrate sensors in customized application.
The interface, call Universal Smart Sensor Interface (USSI), gives a double functionality: a high-level connection with the main microcontroller, based on a digital comunication protocol, and at the same time has an analogical-digital front-end re-configurable, that allow to easily set up a wide range of different type of sensors.
